Your Rights

Students at public universities enjoy most of the same constitutional rights on campus as everyday citizens.  As government entities, public universities are accountable to the U.S. Constitution, and must protect students' rights to free speech, expression and association, free exercise of religion, equal protection under the law, and due process of law. In other words, universities must assure students that they can express their religious beliefs without threat of punishment, and that any discipline for illegal conduct must afford the students fair processes by which to appeal the discipline.  The following links describe in more detail the rights of students at public universities.
